Attractions & Getting Around Sihanoukville
The main attraction of visitors to Sihanoukville is its glorious white sandy beaches. There are a number of beaches around Sihanoukville, all within a small distance of each other and Sihanoukville town.
Beaches:
Ochheuteal & Serendipity Beach The longest stretch of sand in Sihanoukville, lined at the North end by many huts & shacks housing bars, restaurants & guesthouses. Popular, lively beach to stay at and visit, a couple of recommended places to visit are Chaimoy's Frog Shack and Chiva's Shack. Parties on the beach occasionally, good atmosphere. Recent reports are that a number of shacks infront of the golf course at the Southern end of Ochheuteal beach have been levelled to make way for top-class accommodation plans.
Victory Beaches Perfectly orientated for watching the sun set, numerous bars, restaurants & guesthouses line the sand from which you can sit and watch the sun go down. The islands and fishing boats out to sea make for a lovely photo of the sunset.
Sohka Beach Tucked away little cove North along the coastline from Ochheuteal, this pristine stretch of sand is mostly privately used by the guests of the Sokha Hotel Beach Resort & Spa, the best accommodation in Sihanoukville. Theres a seafood restaurant on the beach run by the hotel with great views out to sea.
Although less common than Phnom Penh or Siem Reap, you can get around Sihanoukville by hiring local motos. Tuk-tuk's and taxi's however are much less common as there are very few tourists around Sihanoukville.
