The West Baray huge water reserviour is still full of water to this day, and now attracts many Khmer people to the beaches along its southern edge.

The temple of West Mebon sits upon an island in the centre of the West Baray, it is accessable by boat from a small dock in the middle of the southern edges shoreline.
